In this role, you will

Simulate, design and develop electronics circuits for advanced navigation technologies utilising analogue signal processing and digital circuits. You will have broad responsibility within a multidisciplinary team. You will contribute across the entire design phase to prototype, develop and then design to manufacture complex products. The products will be used in a range of applications in defence, autonomous vehicles, underwater vehicles, aerospace platforms and other advanced industries.

You will also

  • Design of analogue signal chain processing circuits (Filters, amplifiers, etc ...)
  • Design of digital signal circuits, including high-speed interfaces
  • Develop mixed-signal processing chains (ie A to D and D to A)
  • PCB schematic design and layout using Altium Designer
  • Simulate and document circuits in LTSpice
  • Collaborating with the software team to ensure hardware designs meet software requirements
  • Create personal work packages with clearly defined, agreed deliverables
  • Provide regular progress updates to project management
  • Identify scope and schedule risks and raise them with management
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy, turning high-level goals into executable work packages.

You should have

  • Bachelor degree or higher in or electrical/electronic/mechatronic engineering
  • 3 years + experience designing electronic circuits and PCB layouts
  • Experience designing and developing complex mixed-signal electronics with analogue data acquisition, embedded processing and high-speed digital circuits
  • Proficiency using industry-standard tools such as SPICE, Altium Designer, Matlab
  • Experience building prototypes and validating the performance against simulations
  • Structured problem solving and debugging skills
  • Design for manufacturing experience
  • Experience turning high-level discussions into detailed, personal work package plans and reporting progress to management
  • Experience planning and scheduling your own work over short and long term time horizons

You might also have

  • Solidworks experience
  • Experience with optics or photonics
  • Experience designing RF equipment or production test systems
  • Exposure to FPGA
  • Exposure to systems engineering principles and practices
