The Opportunity

As Afterpay’s new Head of Compliance Monitoring and Testing, in this business critical position, you will use a data driven approach, you will lead a team with the global remit to oversee and coordinate the development and alignment of global and local compliance monitoring and testing.  This team will work alongside and complement the Global Compliance team.  This is a permanent and full time position, reporting into our Global Head of Compliance.

  • Develop and maintain a global compliance monitoring and testing programme
  • Keeping abreast and implementing innovative techniques to support effective and timely monitoring and testing in a fast paced and expanding environment
  • With a focus on data driven methods, build a world class team of specialist resources to support the programme
  • Lead the monitoring of Afterpay’s policy control framework
  • Contribute to key compliance projects - leading the delivery and implementation of relevant monitoring and testing components as required
  • Create and maintain an testing programme over key regulatory obligations owned by the accountable executives
  • Lead the team to conduct independent reviews of the effectiveness of risk management practices and the control environment and advising on areas of improvement

  • You'll have a passion for and have extensive knowledge and experience working in risk, audit and/or compliance functions with a proven record developing and delivering  monitoring and testing programmes
  • Experience in using data techniques for monitoring and testing, leading and managing analytical and testing resources
  • Working experience in financial services, payments or technology environments with a retail or payments focus
  • Global experience and exposure to international regulatory practices will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment with the ability to simplify, identify and action the programme in a smart and efficient manner
  • You’re naturally passionate about risk and compliance matters and how they contributes to successful business and community outcomes
  • You place importance on building strong relationships and pride yourself on your excellent communication skills
  • A willingness to learn, be challenged and be part of a team of like minded people who want to make a difference
  • You follow through, you show up, and make it happen, fast!
