Canva’s marketing happens through several channels and experiences—all of which require exceptional creative thinking. As a Copywriter on the Lifecycle Team, it’s your mission to create copy that makes complex things simple and gives ordinary people the ability to create extraordinary things. 

We place a strong emphasis on our users’ success, and copy in all forms has a significant impact on that. This means you will help define Canva’s user journeys—ensuring that our customers receive a high-quality experience. Your primary responsibilities will be crafting copy and overall messaging for email campaigns, in-app messages, mobile push campaigns, and web push campaigns. You’ll work alongside designers to bring the visuals to life, and occasionally complete the messaging journey with social media copy, video scriptwriting, surveys, and landing pages. Writing copy with a strong voice and empathy for our users is crucial for us to create one of the most loved brands in the world.

What we look for:

  • At least 2 years of professional copywriting experience, either with an agency or client background.
  • Understanding of digital marketing specifically in relation to content and email marketing.
  • Ability to write and deliver high-quality content for multiple channels and mediums in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate a versatility of writing styles that appeal to various target markets.
  • Very collaborative and solution-focused approach.
  • Passionate about writing and how it contributes to amazing user experiences and enables the growth of the product.
  • Willingness to learn how to read data to map out customer journeys and touchpoints.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thinks holistically when writing copy and how each content piece works together to tie into the overarching content strategy.
  • A good understanding and ability to think about customer lifecycles and the importance of content in the user journey.
