This role is remote for the remainder of 2020, & until it is safe to return to the office.

Your mission

At Deputy the difference between making good software and making great software is our QA Team.

As a QA Engineer you will be part of a highly collaborative team where you will be working very closely with teams consisting of Solutions Consultants, Implementation Engineers, stakeholders and leadership. In the role you will help set the Framework for the teams and strive for best practices.

You will contribute to developing automated tests and conduct hands-on and automated tests among other standard quality assurance activities at Deputy. The subjects of these tests will be ambitious new customisations and features of Deputy, which deliver services to millions of users and thousands of large enterprise businesses daily across the globe.

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Ability to champion quality practices within the team and organization.
  • Implement and maintain BAU automation testing framework and knowledge with version control systems such as GIT.
  • Develop and execute end to end automation test cases, track results, and log defects.
  • Contribute to technical and spec design reviews.
  • Attend and actively participate in daily stand-ups.
  • Previous experience with Jira and Confluence (from the Atlassian tool suite)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and thrive on building robust software quality assurance systems and processes that ensure the delivery of perfect applications

Ideal skills

  • Qualification in relevant IT field with background in software development
  • At least 1-2 years of test automation experience, setting up and/or maintaining and improving automation frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience automating Web-based applications
  • Experience in testing in environments that adopt an Agile development methodology.
  • Documentation, cataloguing and organisational skills
  • Highly motivated and driven with an ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to technical and non-technical personnel
  • Friendly, passionate, professional
