UpGuard is seeking an experienced Operations Executive to join the executive team to oversee the financial, legal, and operations functions at UpGuard. Working directly with the Co-CEOs, the VP Operations will be part of the senior management team, working closely with department heads to help drive growth and performance within the company.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced operations professional with finance and legal expertise honed from previous startup experience. UpGuard is scaling rapidly and seeks an executive with a demonstrable track record of helping companies scale.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day company operations.
  • Define, implement and continually review/improve operations strategy, structure, and processes.
  • Manage the quarterly and annual budgeting process and P&L responsibilities.
  • Liaise with Executive Committee members on operating plan and budgets.
  • Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations.
  • Coordinate support to operations throughout the business.
  • Manage company legal matters, and liaise with outside counsel where necessary.
  • Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team.
  • Ensure adherence to company, federal (the US and Australia), state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance where necessary.
  • Work with sales leadership on compensation plan design, execution and audit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience in operations or related field
  • Previous P&L responsibility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Experience

  • Experience within a venture-backed technology company.
  • MBA, MAC or equivalent graduate degree
  • International working experience
  • Detailed US/Australia corporate compliance and taxation knowledge
  • IPO experience in Australia or US Fundraising experience
