The Partnerships Team, both pre & post-sale, has been the face of DoorDash to our merchant partners since our founding in 2013. Stationed both locally in markets and centrally at our HQ in Melbourne, this team creates partnerships with the best local merchants, finding ways to grow our businesses together. These partnerships help customers make sure they can always find their favourite restaurant, allow our partners find more customers, and give us more opportunities to connect them.

About the role

We’re looking for a Head of Partnerships to lead a large team responsible for driving operational success and overall revenue for SMB merchants in Australia.

As the Head of Partnerships, Australia you'll lead our first International-based team based outside of North America. You’ll be tasked with overseeing our pre and post-sales teams, both inside and outside. You’ll be responsible for recruiting and empowering Regional Leaders while creating and performance managing our sales process, working with cross functional partners, and helping close and manage our key accounts.

The team is laying the foundation for what will be the single largest competitive advantage for DoorDash – industry-leading partnerships with the best merchants. It’s the Head of Partnerships’ job to lead that charge.

What you'll do

  • Manage – Hit top line revenue goals for your region. You will navigate resources to balance revenue across multiple product lines and grow new and existing accounts
  • Partner with Recruiting and Regional Leaders to build the team
  • Implement sales methodologies and processes with your Regional Leaders and our Sales Operations team
  • Create a culture of accountability and optimism in which you and your team dare to think big
  • Lead the sales cycle for key accounts, forging deep and lasting partnerships with a city’s best businesses
  • Share on-the-ground learnings with our Merchant Operations, Product, Engineering, Business Operations, Sales, Account Management, and BD teams to improve the merchant experience
  • Travel into different markets in your Region (up to 25% travel)

We’re excited about you because you have

  • Relevant experience including management experience in sales / consulting / strategy / business development / technology / banking / analytics or related experience; high-growth or early-stage startup experience is a plus
  • Built teams from the ground up and have experience directly managing a large team 
  • You exceed goals and can speak to how you achieved success
  • A growth mindset, exceed goals and can articulate how you achieve success
  • Led an end-to-end, outbound sales cycle
  • Emotional intelligence, whether leading client-facing conversations or partaking in internal meetings
  • Experience sourcing and implementing sales and productivity tools
  • You approach challenges from first principles, always aiming to understand how to improve our business
