We are looking for a Tribe Engineer Lead (Engineering Manager) to lead our Shared Engineering teams. The Shared Engineering function builds tools and services that make our customer facing engineers more productive. You will lead 4-6 teams of Engineers locally to do this. These teams consist of a Principal Engineer group, Platform Services, Internal Analytics, QA Automation and Business Tools. You will report into the VP of Engineering and partner with our other Tribe Engineering Leads, specifically for our Customer Facing Engineering Tribe.

 

The Role:

  • Identify productivity gains in the Customer Facing Engineering team
  • Oversee delivery, providing visibility of progress and performance
  • Ensure that everyone understands the problems we’re trying to solve
  • Be a “manager of managers” for each of the teams in Shared Engineering
  • Be prepared to deep dive into architecture, automation and analytics subject areas
  • Influence others in the organisation to adopt and support Shared Engineering products
  • Manage the development and adoption of an automated QA framework
  • Support the building and deployment of a team of internal consultants (principals)
  • Support the productisation of the work completed by a platform services team
  • Support and provide direction for internal analytics and business tools teams
  • Provide management support for the VP Engineering role
  • Participation in and ownership of selected group wide initiatives

Requirements:

  • Software development background essential
  • Experience in core architecture and processing architectures
  • Experience in software and project delivery
  • A background in senior program management is preferred
  • Experience managing CxO expectations
  • Successfully led high performing engineering teams
  • Management of technical staff essential
