Web Developer at Accelo

in Wollongong, NSW

Job description

Accelo is seeking a motivated Web Developer to own and enhance the technical side of our online presence. You'll work with our Marketing and Design teams to implement and enhance our website and landing pages & more.

About the role

With a growing product and user base, Accelo’s website serves as the first point of call in attracting interest and potential sign-ups. Along with our marketing team (who are based in San Francisco), the web developer in this role will help shape the online presence of Accelo by maintaining and owning accelo.com.

Responsibilities

At the top of the funnel you’ll be responsible for working with a Visual Designer bringing their designs to life! This will involve working to design specifications, and ensuring designs meet current web standards. From there, you’ll be the ‘go-to’ for things regarding accelo.com and code. From a front-end perspective you’ll be using the typical assortment of HTML/CSS and JS skills to ensure our presentation layer is crisp, responsive, and professional. From a back-end perspective you’ll be working on the SilverStripe platform; a PHP based framework. Several internal team members are writing content on accelo.com daily, so you'll be ensuring that their experience working with our website is as smooth as possible.

What we're looking for...

  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience as a web developer
  • Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS (including pre-processing such as SASS, as well as naming conventions such as the BEM method) and JavaScript
  • Thorough knowledge of PHP and other back-end languages
  • Someone who knows your Sections from your Divs, your Buttons from your A tags and when and why to use each. Semantics are important to you!
  • Someone with a passion for good design, and extremely sharp eye when it comes to detail; working to pixel perfection!
  • Someone who has a good understanding of Web Accessibility
  • Someone with a love for team work, as well as being able to work autonomously.

Bonus Points for...

  • Ability to design interfaces, and see them through to build (i.e. coding your own designs)
  • An understanding in one or more modern front-end JS framework, such as: AngularJS, Angular, ReactJS etc.
  • Experience creating experiences using design tools, such as Sketch, Photoshop or Illustrator, and prototyping tools such as InVision
  • Conjuring enthusiasm with your everyday repertoire
  • Experience with a Saas company with experience designing for global audiences
  • Loving to explore new technologies
  • Owning a nerf gun!

What we're offering

  • Competitive salary
  • Centrally located office with great access via public transport
